Parameter Maintenance

The following aspects of the system are supported by parameters which enable flexible use of the order entry system:

  • Item classes
  • Stock inventory groups
  • Stock value groups
  • Company details
  • Warehouse types

Item/Warehouse maintenance

An item can be recorded at 1 - 999 actual or theoretical warehouses. For each item at a particular warehouse the following default information can be recorded:

  • location (one per item/warehouse)
  • unit of measure
  • minimum balance
  • maximum balance
  • safety stock (quantity)
  • fixed order quantity
  • economic order quantity
  • lead time (days)
  • supplier number. This information can be changed as and when required.

Stock transaction Entry

All transactions can be batch or interactively entered. The Stock Enquiry facility gives up to the minute stock and price information and is available by warehouse. Stock movements are recorded by the following types:

  • Sales
  • Credits
  • Receipts
  • Issues
  • Adjustments
  • Purchase Orders
  • Returns to Suppliers
  • Indirect Shipments
  • Reserve Stock
  • Transfer Stock

Stocktaking is supported by selecting a specific group of stock items for which stocktaking is required. The selection can be a 'from' 'to' combination of the following:

  • Warehouse
  • Inventory Group
  • Supplier
  • Item Class
  • Stocktake Group
  • Location
  • Item Number

The profile of a selected stocktake is stored on the system and the user then has the ability, against any profile stored, to :

  • Print stocktake sheets
  • Enter count figures
  • Print variance reports
  • Update stock figures

Any number of profiles can be stored. However specific items are locked if they appear in more than one profile.

Interface from Purchasing

  • When orders are placed, all on-order figures are updated on the relevant item/warehouse record.
  • As stock is received through purchasing all on-hand figures are updated interactively.

The Inventory Management Module currently supports the following reports:

  • daily stock movements
  • stock status by item
  • stock status by supplier
  • theoretical stock valuation by warehouse/supplier
  • stock movement history
